Rotorua Yacht Club Inc (RYC) welcomes sailors of all ages and abilities.  A regular sailing program is scheduled throughout the summer months (October–April), including club racing and social events for both youth and adult classes of centreboard sailing dinghies.  

​The club runs a regular Learn to Sail programme based on the Yachting New Zealand syllabus.  Sessions take place 1-2 evenings a week and on Sunday mornings.

RYC membership consists of 20-25 regular members and life members, plus 10-15 youth sailors that join up for 3 or 4 seasons.  At the end of this period, the youth sailors will be capable of taking part in the club’s Sunday racing program.
