Established in 1993, RLWST is administered by a group of Trustees elected from RLWST member clubs. The present location of the facilities is ideal for maximising use by current member groups. Trust facilities are often used seven days a week. Each group has their own area with common kitchen, toilet, changing room and shower areas. Often several groups are operating at the same time. Member groups are levied to cover operating costs of the Trust building.
The building sits on reserve land which is on a long term lease with the Rotorua Lakes Council.
The trust building has a Function Room approximately 60 square metres in area which is ideal for social events or large meetings. The Function Room on the second level has a beautiful Lake view through extensive windows that also lead to an outside balcony. It has an attached bar area and kitchen facilities.
There are also three separate rooms available for hire for smaller meetings.
